Early Life & Education

Famous Bollywood actress Kiran Rao was born on November 7, 1973 in the Indian state of Telangana.

His grandfather belongs to Raja Varnapati, Varnapati district.

His early education was in Kolkata.

In 1992, he did not know where to go in Mumbai and left.

Then Kiran Rao graduated from Sofia College for Women.

Then I did a 2 month course in Sofia Polytechnic in Social Media and Communication.

After that she moved to Delhi.

Degree in Mass Communication from Jamia Millia Islamic University, Delhi.

In the beginning he was very fond of writing, painting and photography.

He also learned music in the same period.

He thought it would go to the movies.

He had also sent a fax to great filmmaker Subash Ghee asking if I could be your assistant but there was no response to this fax.

Rima asked for a job as an assistant director for the film Lagaan.

Career : 

Rao began his career as an assistant director in the epic film Lagaan, directed by Ashutosh Gwarikar, after which he also helped Swedes: Hum, The People. Lagan was nominated for the 74th Academy Award in the Foreign Language Film category. Aamir Khan produced and acted in the same film. Prior to Lagaan, she also played a supporting role in Dil Chaha Hai. He also worked with Academy Award-nominated director Mira Nair as the second assistant director at the Indonesian Hit Monsoon Wedding.

He scripted and directed the film Dhobi Ghat, which was released in January 2011 under the Aamir Khan production. He has started writing his next film which will have its roots in Kolkata.

Kiran Rao was made the chairperson of Mumbai Film Festival-Mami in 2015. He also sang a Marathi song 'Toofan Alhiya', Satyamio Jayate Water Cup.

Famous actor Aditi Rao Haideri is his cousin
